We had the opportunity to take Gabriel down to South Carolina to see my parents this past week. We weren't sure how he would do in the car, so we spent Friday night in Newport, TN, which is about a 6 hour drive. We left around 8 that morning and took our time driving, actually arriving in Newport around 3:00. Gabriel would sleep for about 3 hours at a time which was good considering he'd been asleep the night before. Newport is a lovely town but not a lot to do. We took Bailey with us so we couldn't do much, even if there was something to do. We got out and drove around the downtown area and found something to eat. We spent most of our time in the hotel watching "Dude where's my car" it'd been forever since we'd watched that movie and I had forgotten how funny it was. We rented a crib from the hotel, it's a good thing I brought Gabriels sheet and mattress pad because the hotel had a full size sheet on this little bitty mattress and it was tucked in around the edges. Not safe at all. He got up about every 2 hours during the middle of the night (which he never does) so that was fun! The next morning we hit the road for South Carolina.
