For those of you who don't know we have been in the middle of a bathroom renovation for the past 3 1/2 weeks. Unfortunately it is still not complete. Everything seems to be slow go and it seems like something "happens" all the time with the bathroom. Take for instance, after we got home last night from Murray, Matt happens to look through the existing hole in our kitchen ceiling (yikes) up into our bathroom and sees that we have a leak. Unfortunately the only way to fix the leak (since we've already enclosed the pluming) is to take out a section of dry wall. Go figure. So he and our neighbor Bryan worked on that for about an hour last night and finally were able to fix the leak. Sob Sob.... we've had nothing but headaches with this project. I'll eventually post pictures of the bathroom but right now it's not worth posting. Several months ago (before Gabriel was born) we realized that we would need to gut the bathroom not only for cosmetic reasons but for health reasons also (we had mold behind the shower tiles) So we had it in our mind that we would redo this in July when we took our vacation! Ha! Joke was on us. I think we picked the hottest week of the year. The heat index all week was around 110 degrees. But we got through it. Thanks to my wonderful husband we now have all new plumbing (we had the old 1950 origional galvinzed, now we have PEX) we have a "shower system" with the 10 inch rain head from the ceiling, 6 inch rain shower head from the wall and Gabriel has his very own hand held shower head. To this date we've installed the tile in the tub/ shower area and the drywall is almost finished.... we've gotten a little sluggish. I think mainly we just got really burnt out. So when we came home last night and found a leak it was disheartening. My poor husband, but he got it fixed. I will post pictures one day soon, I just prefer to post when everything is finished. I think we've vowed (me mainly) to never to a renovation project this big again. It's been a lot more than we ever imagined but it'll be worth it in the long run. The picture is of the tankless water heater being installed.
